She came to me

Small, Smaller, Smallest Blog Hop

If this hop would have been
Big, Bigger, Biggest,
I know that I would have
never been able to pull of any project.
(I kind of lost my momentum for a bit
or maybe this project started it up again)

But quite thankfully,
it is the Small, Smaller,
Smallest Bog Hop
Hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt.

I didn't have a hard time
thinking of what to make for this one.

I pulled out a sewing book
of mine called
Sewing Pretty Little Things
by Cherie Lee and a few of my favorite things.

Fun Fabrics, which just happen to
have Darth Sugar Skulls on it,
and some beautiful Aurifil threads in 40wt.
and 12 wt. of my favorite color as well.
Aurifil #5006, which I do
believe is the color of my living room.

Inside is a cute little clutch purse.
I slightly tweaked it a bit
to work with what I needed and got
this.

It is a zippered clutch that folds in half.
I enlarge the pattern a bit for it to
fit the zipper that I had on hand.

I used cork for the top decorative part,
and added straight stitching with Aurifil 12 wt.
for added detail.
I just adjusted my machine
for a longer stitch.
It works out beautifully each time.

I like to pick up different little elements
at the craft store when I go
and I saw a set of  metal inspirational saying
in the scrapbooking department.

I totally cheated and sewed it on
my machine with a wide zig-zag stitch.

It fits just the right amount of make-up
and brushes in it.

Thanks for stopping by
my blog
for the Small, Smaller and Smallest
Blog Hop.
Please stop in and visit today's hoppers.

One Monthly Goal - March

Well, the post title says
One Monthly Goal,

but I have never been one
to stick with titles.
Why start now?!?
So instead of one goal,
I am going for three.
Crazy, I know!!
Especially since,
we are already on the 7th day
of the month and
I am on the computer rather
than sewing away.
So, here it goes....

Goal #1
(Image from Amazon)

I found the most adorable pincushion
kit on Amazon.
It is not expected to be here until
Friday, so I am excited to give this little
cutie a try.
I have yet to make a pincushion
from fabrics, so this
will all be new to me.
I can't wait to show off the
end results.

Goal #2

I bought 4 of
these quilt kits.
(Yes, I really said 4)
when they were on clearance
at Craftsy.
The fabrics are from Tula Pink collection,
Holiday Homies.
My kids will love them.
I want to get one pieced
so that it can be ready for
Christmas this year.
and if I have time

Goal #3

I splurged this month and
bought myself a
and inside was these
adorable charms and
a pattern that came with it.
I might have to get a jump start on
Christmas presents or maybe
I should keep this one
for myself!!

Thank you to Patty of
Elm Street Quilts for hosting.
I can't wait to give you an update on
how the month went.

O'Kelley's Clovers with Island Batik

I am quite excited to bring you
my first project as an Island Batik Ambassador.

Our challenge as an Ambassador
was to create a Mini Quilt.

Inside the box of goodies that Island Batiks
sent me, were these beautiful greens.

They are from the Paisley Dot collection.
You can find the pretties HERE.
The ones I ended up choosing were
 Lime, Leprechaun, Fairway, and Chartreuse
and of course some Aurifil threads to match.

Since I am a wee bit Irish, I decided to make
up this mini quilt that I had designed
a few years ago.
You can see my first version HERE

I simply love how this mini quilt
finished up.
If you are interested in the pattern,
you can find it HERE

I hope you will stop
in to see our challenge
next month.
