In Our Garden Block of the Month Blocks 3 &4

Here we are with Month Number Two of the

I am so excited to share with you
Blocks 3 and 4 by Carol of

Block #3

Block #4

Carol is using bright and cheery colors from Riley Blake.
I absolutely love the little flowers.
They look like they are singing in the summer breeze.
Her patterns are available for free until the end of the month of March.
Go and check out her blog to see how to pick them up.

She is also having a giveaway for

The Fat Quarter Shop!

I maybe received the pattern a bit in advance,
so that I could work them up with
my fabric selection:
Riley Blake Calico Days by Lori Holt.

I made a few slight changes in the applique block.
If you have followed me for long, you know that I am
never any good at following a pattern.
I added just a touch of DecoFoil to the butterfly's wings.

Here are the four blocks together.

We would love for you to join us
and show off your blocks.
You can do this by joining us on

Jared's Star

This beauty had a mission.
Well, maybe more like I had a mission.
A young man, a family friend's grandson,
had his lung cancer come back from remission and
the outlook has been very grim.
I knew that I had to do something,
and so I made this shooting star, just for him.

Each piece was sewn with a prayer for Jared.
I knew that I had to complete it soon, so that
he would be wrapped in comfort.

I finished it in just a couple of days.
I was a driven woman.
I took it out in the bitter cold to get a couple of picture.
The snow made for such a beautiful backdrop.

I added a very important addition
to my creation - a label, which I often do not do.
It was super easy  and I know that I will be using that method again.
You can find the tutorial on
Therm-O-Web's blog today.

Enjoy every moment for we do not know when will be our last.

Peacock Love

Not only have I been working on the
In Our Garden Hop
with these blocks that you can

read more about here and pick them up for free.

I have also been working
on a project for Therm-O-Web
in which I absolutely love.

I required some of my favorite threads,
Aurifil of course,

 A lot of paisley quilting,
which was a first for me

and a few finished touches with gave me this beauty.
(Well, more like my daughter.  She snatched it up pretty quickly)

You can read more about it on Therm-O-Web's blog
today.
