The anticipation has been mounting....
What do the first two blocks look like,
Well your wait is over.
First, I want to thank all the great sponsors that were gracious
to sponsor a month during our hop.
They provided this gorgeous fabric I created my blocks in and
a giveaway for those who are going to sew-a-long with us.
If you have been experiencing winter like our area has,
I am so looking forward to be able to walk in my garden
without snow boots on or mud galoshes when it melts.
So here is the first little breathe of spring,
Block #1 - Flip Flop
It is an easy block that you can piece relatively quickly.
The fabrics that I used were Riley Blake Calico Days by Lori Holt.
Doesn't look like much in the form of garden time here, even the bird's have
there home for rent over the winter.
You can find this block for a free during the month of February, HERE.
Now here comes Block #2,
an applique block.
What inspired this block well...
In my garden, I have toads that hop
all over my yard during the summer months.
Sometimes, they jump and scare the daylights
out of me, but I am totally appreciative of all
the nasty little mosquitos or in this case flies that the little guys pick up.
He is my hoppin handsome fellow.
You can find the pattern free for the month of February.
You can find it HERE.
Here are both of the blocks together:
Here is another color variation of the blocks,
with a little added embroidery for the buzzing bug.
February 10th, I will be opening a link party
where you can show off your finished blocks.
This link will be open until February 29th at midnight EST.
Not only will you be able to show them off,
but as an added bonus
you will be in the drawing for a beautiful fat quarter bundle of
fabrics provided by Riley Blake.
Now for a giveaway for all of you,
who stopped by for our hop.
This giveaway is open to everyone!!
Thank you to the Fat Quarter Shop
for their generosity.
Here is what you can win.
