Pillow Case Wrapping Paper and Pineapples

This year, I opted to make all of my Christmas presents.  Which is turning into a huge undertaking, but I am determined that I will get them all finished.   I figured since I was making gifts, why not make the wrapping paper too.

So instead of wrapping it in paper, my family will all be getting a pillow case.  I love the free tutorials over at Missouri Star Quilt Company.  So, I picked up the dimensions from their tutorial here.  I opted to use French seams, so all of the raw edges are concealed.

Of course, they are all geared to their likes or favorite color.  Anyone for coffee and bacon?

A little camo for the guys,

a little Moda Tradewinds, so much fun

and some wild horses.  For a grand total of 9.  So no wrapping paper bought or ending up in the trash or recycling bin.  A win - win situation! And since the weather was very cooperative with creating this last weekend (snowed like crazy), I finished my Mango Pineapple afghan.  4 More afghans to do, but wait...

I started working on another: A Watermelon Pineapple afghan.  I love that the name of the yarn color goes so well with pineapples. Same pattern as the other two, and I now have the pattern memorized which makes crocheting a lot easier.

Only 39 more days till my Christmas deadline, so I best get busy.

  3. Love your blog! I found a link to your blog and of course have spent the last half hour cruising around. Love the colors, threads and ideas. and I pinned the recipes for the body scrubs. Where did you find the pattern for the scrubber with the Lemon Sugar Scrub you posted earlier?

  8. Such a great idea, but you are an extremely ambitious lady! I love the pillow cases and that crochet is stunning. I'm going to have to check out that pattern and give it a try. My crochet adventures have been limited to granny squares and I would love to try something new.
