Ring Around The Rosie

I gave you a little peek at what I have been working on the last couple days.  Thank goodness it has cooled down here.  (If you call 95 degrees cooler) The 100's were brutal but I was able to get a lot of sewing completed (my first quilt) when it was too hot to be outside enjoying the day.  Since my sewing machine is still broken and we are enjoying the outside, I have been working on my crochet projects during the evenings.

I usually make everyone in the family potholders for Christmas, like these..
They are great for taking hot dishes out of the oven, but I found this pattern in my

Garden Grows booklet by Lily's.  I had recently made the Peony Pouf and I thought
Number 3 in the booklet looked like a fun new pattern to try.  They say it is a dishcloth, but I think it makes a great decorative pot holder.

They did theirs with white around the edge, but (you know me) I never do what they suggest.  Plus, I had this great vibrant variegated yarn that blended all the colors together.

They remind me of a Celtic Knot.  My sis has already put her dibs in on this set.  She has Fiesta dinnerware and these would go perfect for her.  I am working on number 5 and 6.  They are great little stash busters if you have some pieces of leftover yarn.   I really love the way they are turning out and I am sure you will see a few more.

If you would like to try and get your hands on a book or any of the Lily's Scrubby yarn.  It was a trial they were running with the Micheal's Craft stores and they are not carrying it any longer.  I contacted Lily's and you might be able to purchase it at their Factory Outlet.  I would be happy to share their number if you have any interest.

  7. You know how I feel about rainbow-y things. So, so cute! And I think you're right about those making better decorative potholders than dish cloths. Nicely done! Thank you for linking up!

  17. These are beautiful. I love the colors and they are not the usual crochet look. I am a newbie crocheter(not sure if that is a word!) so I don't know if I could handle this pattern.

  34. I was given this book and a skein of the scrubby yarn as a thoughtful gift from my Aunt. I am so glad to know that I was lucky to get it when there was such a short trial. I am not so happy about not being able to get any more scrubby yarn (I have been putting off using my yarn until i find a worthy pattern lol.) The ring around the rosy dish cloth was actually the first pattern I chose to do. I decided to make 3 more and turn it into a lapghan. I will actually be putting a post up toady showing my rings off. I chose to make them purple and chocolate brown.
