Red, White, & Blue Zig Zag

I had never finished a quilt.  Let alone finish it in a month.  I thought the task to be impossible.  Between swim lessons and all the other fun activites to do during the summer, I decided to be my crazy self and take the challenge.  Well, to my amazement, (and a broken down sewing machine-that might just go to the sewing room in the sky), I finished it.  I honestly didn't know that I would.  So here is my very first quilt.

I used American Banner Rose by Moda.

It was all washed up and hung out on the line.  It smelled so good.  I took it and dropped it over to my folks for a early anniversary present.  My mom adopted it, and my dad said "She gets the quilt and all I get is a pillow."  Maybe for Christmas he might get one too.

  4. Your quilt looks great! I have been following the quilt along but I KNEW I had too much going on to attempt it right now, so I won't be making one until the fall. I have never made a finished quilt before either so you have given me hope that I will be able to do this :-)
