My Gypsy Dance quilt is all finished up. I quilted it with echoing boxes inside the lattice design of the quilt. I wanted to keep it simple, but to amplify the pattern that Bree over at Distant Pickles designed.
I was going to hand sew the binding down, but I got lazy and wanted to work on my Ring Around Potholders instead of hand stitching the binding in place. I have yet to hand sew the binding down. Maybe my next quilt.

Hope to see you there!!
I like all the bright colors on this quilt. It makes me think of summer for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! I wanted it to be a happy little quilt or maybe even a wall hanging. Thanks for visiting!

Very pretty. I'm surprised the binding is not hand sewn - it looks so nice. If mine was machine sewn you would certainly be able to tell (ask me how I know)!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy! I haven't quite got the hang of binding. I pretty much dislike it completely. You are so patient if you hand sew all your binding.

Beautiful quilt Amy! Such gorgeous colours. And I really like the quilting. I'm with you about the binding. I have yet to sew down a binding by hand... I'm just not that patient! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Izzy! I like to be finished with a project and be able to move to the next. I am sooo with you on the patience. Glad you dropped by! :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely compliment! I have only heard that from a few family members, but they are slightly bias!

Beautiful quilt! I love the bright colors and am super impressed by the machine binding. I always hand sew the back of the binding because I can never seem to catch the entire thing while I sew. It must save so much time.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stacey! I can't imagine hand sewing all the binding down. You are fabulous if you hand sew it all the time. I know that I would not have finished my two quilts if I had hand sewn them. They would be bindless quilts. Thanks for stopping in!

You have such a beautiful eye for color and choosing such an appealing design! Handsewing the binding certainly must not be important from the look of what you have here. I just love it!

ReplyDeleteJust love the fabrics and colors and what a great pattern! I used to sew my binding by hand but there are too many other things I want to work on so it gets done by machine! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Connie! Have you really noticed a big difference between the two (hand sew or machine)?

Very pretty quilt. I remember in 5th grade my class sewed a quilt for the homeless and reading this post brought back those memories. Thank you for that. I'm glad I stumbled on your blog from the made with love Link up!
