Stitch Me Up - The Ooh La La Edition

My daughter once again was a huge influence on what exactly I should do for this hop.  Most of the things I make (of course) first go to my kids or family.  I thought that I would show you a before picture of a huge 25" square bed pillow that my daughter loves to set on her bed to dress it up.  Well, it was pretty dull, store bought pillow that has seen better days.

And now................

I had a some strips of Lost and Found by Riley Blake from my Hugs and Kisses Blog Hop project and they looked rather French and super chic.  My daughter adored "Frenchie" with her little doggie.  So of course, I went in that direction.

I heavily quilted around my embroidery.  I, also, embellished her with a few beads.  The dog has a little diamond collar with a matching leash.  She has a few jewels on her purse.  I wanted to keep the design elegant and simple.

On another one of the blocks, I decided to test out my Sharp Crochet hook.  The flower is directly crocheted into the black fabric.  Another first, I had never crocheted into fabric before.  The hook worked quite well.  (P.S.  I will be giving one away really soon, if you are interested)

The pillow also has two rows of piping. It was a little on the difficult side, but I really love the end result.

I generally don't like to procrastinate enough to cause stress, but in this case I was cutting it a little closer than I care to. Generally, my blog hop projects are finished and ready days before the hop begins. Well, in this one case procrastinating paid off.

Look at the fabric I found two days before the hop to put as the backing.  It matched it all perfectly.

Thanks so much for dropping by and don't forget to stop by the other stitch happy bloggers!!
