May Bee Island Batik Pillow

Here I am just making it under the
wire for the Playful Pillows
challenge for May.

But I did it in just the nick of
time and I am so excited to
show it off to you.

It is made with a variety of different
Island Batik fabrics.
I used several different colors from the

The pattern is from my
I added a Flying Geese
around the edge to make it 18 1/2" square.

I used Aurifil Black thread to
applique stitch around the flowers
and the bee.
It was the first time that I had
not matched the thread to the applique,
and I really liked the look of it.

Join me next month for the

Challenge.
It should be a lot of fun!
I just love a good challenge.

Put a Little Love in Your Heart Hop

Welcome to
Sew Incredibly Crazy
where it is my day to
show off my Love project.
Thanks to Carol of Just Let Me Quilt
for hosting this fun hop.

I first started off just
thinking that I should
do a mug rug,

but that just wouldn't do.
It was cute and all,
but it just wasn't quite what I was
thinking.
If you wish you can find the
free pattern HERE

Then, I decided to make some
a little different.

It is the fabric line
Woof Woof Meow by Stacy Iest Hsu for Moda.
You can find the fabrics HERE.

They have that pop art feel to them.
My daughter already has claimed the
puppy and the kitty will be for my
niece's birthday.

You can find the pattern
on my Craftsy Pattern page, HERE.
It will be half off through
February 14th.

Please stop in to the rest of today's hoppers.

February 8

For a giveaway,
I am giving away one pattern

Just leave a comment below,

Under the Big Top Circus Pillow

I was lucky enough
this fall to work with
a beautiful collection
of fabric by Blend.

It is Calliope  by
designer Maude Ashbury.
It is cute and whimsical.

After some deliberation,
I decided to make a pillow
that embraced the circus theme.

You can see some tricks to how I created the
flaps to the circus tent and
other details over at Thermoweb.

I used Aurifil 12wt. thread
to quilt the outside edge and to
hand-stitch the banner string down.

I just love how it
turned out.

The full pattern for the pillow
can be found on my Craftsy
pattern page.

This would be the perfect
pillow for the nursery for all those spring or
summer babies that will
soon be arriving.
You will have to not sew on buttons,
if it is to be in a child's room.

While you are downloading the
Free pattern, go
and check out the awesome sale that
Craftsy is having.

I picked up this quilt kit that
I have had my eye on for some time.

I can't wait to get this
and finish it for my son for next Christmas.
It is just too cute.
