Have you heard the news that the Fat Quarter

When I first started quilting, I came across
a blogger by the name of Lori Holt.
Her blog is called Bee in My Bonnet.
She was having a Barn Block Sew Along.
I absolutely loved the blocks, but
had nowhere near the confidence to
even attempt to do any of the blocks.
Well, fast forward a few years, and she
has several books out.  One of
which is Farm Girl Vintage 2

If you are new to quilting or you have
been doing it for years, I would totally recommend
this book.  It has excellent instructions and
pictures to help you through each step.

I have enjoyed each and every block
and can't wait to complete the whole quilt.

If you would like to join along,
you can find all of the details
about the Quilt Along HERE.

Show Your WIngs Blog Hop - American Style

It is been awhile since I
was able to join a fun blog,
 seemed like the
perfect time to do so.

I have a few blocks lying
around that needed to make themselves
into a quilt.

My Uncle Sam nutcracker
has been wanting a home
since the last blog hop
I was able to participate in.

But he doesn't have wings.

I did decide a few months after him
to make an eagle applique.

He definitely fit the bill
of having wings
and this hop was about showing
off your wings.

So, I added them together.

Well, that was at 4 pm on February 20th.
I knew I want to do a bit more to it.

After deciding, I went ahead
and added a friend  to
keep Mr. Uncle Sam company.

Lady Liberty!!

Let's just say I stayed up
WAYYY past my bedtime
to add a few more blocks and
a border.

I don't think the light of a
candle does much
for a quilt picture, so in
the next few hours I
will take another photo of it.
For now I am
blowing out the candle and headed
for bed.

I hope you enjoyed stopping in.

Check out all the amazing bloggers who are participating:
