Bonnie's Blossoms with Island Batik Getaway Hop

Welcome to the Getaway Blog Hop!

The 2018 Island Batik Ambassadors

 have been busy
sewing with some beautiful
secret fabrics.
with some secret sewing.
Today is that day that I am able to show what I have
been sewing.

Brookview is a beautiful fabric collection by Island Batik.
It has such a gorgeous variety of burgundys, greens, blues and yellows.

There is a hint of peacock feathers and trees
throughout the prints.
It has to be one of my favorite collections.

Most of the fabric collection is found in this
new quilt that I created called Bonnie's Blossoms.

The quilt is 60" square with a lot of large
applique and surrounded by pieced blocks.

This is the biggest applique design that I have attempted
to make.  I just love how well
these fabrics complimented the design.
Check to see if your local quilt shop carries these beautiful
batiks, and if they don't maybe just request
that they would carry them.

I did use handy EZ Print HeatnBond Lite Sheets for the
corner blossoms.  If you do not like tracing out
the design on to the rolled fusible, I totally recommend
these.

The center flower needed to have the rolled fusible
due to its size.

For this quilt, I also used
Aurifil Thread #2370.
I usually try to match my thread to
the fabric I am appliquéing, but  Joan
using one thread for the entire quilt.
She inspired me to try it for myself.

I absolutely love the look with this pattern and fabric.

I sure hope that you enjoyed your

Snowing at the Cabin with Island Batik

My two favorite things to do as
an Island Batik Ambassador

are getting to play with theses
gorgeous fabrics and
the chance to challenge myself.

November's challenge was the Cozy Cabin.
I once again turned to this gorgeous selection
of fabric - Blue Moon.

I absolutely love it.
I made a table runner with the fabric line
in September.

You can read about it here.

You can find some of the collection at

I had plenty 2.5" strips left to make a few
log cabin blocks and
more than enough beautiful Aurifil thread.
Well, I was only going to make 2.
Then 2 turned into 5.

A fun quilt that measures
48" square.
I made it to match the table runner
with much larger snowflakes.
The snowflakes were appliqued down
using my favorite fusible,
by

I just love the fun bold colors that the
fabric have with the subtle
pine cones, snowflakes, and trees
spread throughout the fabric.

It should look really pretty in my
living room next year.
This year, I already have
it all decorated up.

How about you?
Are you all decorated
for Christmas?

Stars and Snowflake Table Runner with Island Batik

It seems that September slipped
away from me and I had to post
this challenge a day into October.

Let's just say that September
in whole was a challenge and
I am thankful to have had a moment
to make this beautiful project using
Island Batik Blue Moon.

It is a beautiful mix of vibrant
blues, purples, and white.

With winter and the Christmas season
just around the corner, I thought
how nice it would be to have a
pretty table runner using
the fabric Blue Moon.

Since the fabric has
a winter feel to it, it
definitely needed to have a
few snowflakes and the challenge was
to have stars.  So, why not
put them together?
I appliqued snowflakes with
HeatnBond Lite and then
applique stitched around using
a coordinating blue in Aurifil thread.

I absolutely love stars and
snowflakes together.

I do believe that I will
have to make a couple more
of these.
My daughter absolutely loves it
and just maybe I could get ahead
and have presents done before
the hour before a get together.
(Haha, wishful thinking)

Quilter's Meet and Greet

Hello and Welcome to the

If you have never been here before,
or you are one of my old friends,
Welcome to my blog
Sew Incredibly Crazy.
My name is Amy.

I never knew how fitting that
blog name would be when I
chose it 6 years ago.

I really love to create.
I started quilting on a whim.
I entered a contest that Moda
was having and I happened on
being in the top 10.
This jolted me into quilting.
I have never taken a quilting/sewing class
in my life unless you count 6th grade
Home Ec.  Which I just found out
from my quilting friends is just odd.
(Hence the blog name)

I have created a number of items in
the past 6 years, but my absolute favorite has
been this one.

It is called Nutty Christmas.
It was designed and sewn by yours truly
and quilted by the super talented Jeanette Parker.
You can find the pattern to the quilt Here.

The reason I chose this quilt is because,
it makes me feel like I am truly a quilt designer.
I never had that feeling until I created this cutie.

The inspiration came from my children who
just love nutcrackers.
Only problem is, I will have to make
a couple more of these so each of us can have
one to enjoy.
They have a tendency to claim everything
I make.

My favorite technique is applique.
Here are just a few of my other quilts.

I am also a Thermoweb designer,
which I love.  They are always so very good
to their designers.  Here is a
leaf garland that is a free project I
created over at Thermoweb

I am also an Island Batik Ambassador,

This is my first year creating with them,
and it has been an absolute pleasure.

One project that I took on three years ago was
to have a Block of the Month.
  A couple designer and I
have had themes of -  In Our Garden
Sun, Sand, and Sea, and this year is
I absolutely love being able to work
with such talented ladies that
push me to be a better designer and
are women that I get to call my friends.

If you are new, feel free to stop and
check out some more of my blog.
You can also find me on
and also we have a Facebook page for our BOM.
I also sell my patterns on

If you want to see more quilters to
meet and greet.
Stop in HERE.
There is a whole line up
of great quilter participating.

If that is not all, there is a huge giveaway
going on as well.

Stop in HERE.
To check it out.

The Great Outdoors Blog Hop with Island Batik

Months ago, all the Island Batik Ambassadors
received their first box of the year.
Inside that box, we all had a surprise
fabric that we had to keep quiet until
our day of the hop arrived.

Well, for me that day is today!!

In my box, I had a perfect collection
for this hop.

What goes better in the Great Outdoors,
than a Safari?
There is a total of  21 prints,
from snakes to giraffes, and leopards to zebras.
Such a fun collection to play with.
You can see the full collection
right HERE.

The pattern I used for
the quilt is my own.

I call it Safari Friends.
It measures at 44" square.
It was a fun mix of piecing
and of course my favorite applique.

The fun little animal silhouettes work
so well with the vibrant prints.
The closest that I could get to
taking a photo out on safari
was a pretty little grassy area.

The sunset made for a beautiful
stained glass look.
It has to be one of my favorite
pictures.
A perfect time to snap a picture!

A big thank you to

for providing the gorgeous fabrics to this quilt.
That is why it is great to be a
