Nancy Drew Blog Hop and Giveaway!

I can remember as a pre-teen going to the local book store and sitting on the floor.  Looking through all the great mysteries by Carolyn Keene.  Hoping by chance that I would get to pick out and take home one of those great stories.  What great adventures they held!!  Yes, I have a soft spot for Nancy Drew.  They were filled with mystery, a great heroine, and they began my love of reading!

Well, when they announced the hop, I was disappointed because it was right after the holidays and I knew that there was no way that I would be able to join.  Well, thanks to a small fabric delay, it worked in my favor.  I was glad to join in have and fun with an ionic figure from my childhood and one of current favorite things (Ohhhhhh, Moda Fabric!!!)

But before we get to my finished project, I had to show you a great sleuth mystery quilting tool.
I had seen that there were these erasable gel pens that with a short trip with an iron would disappear like magic.  Like a secret decoder pencil, I was skeptical that anything could work that well.  I had to try it out on this project.  And.....

EEEKKKK!!!!  I drew all over my already finished block.   Believe me, I tested it out extensively, but I was still a little scared about drawing all over it.  After, ink went to fabric, I quilted it all up.

I had fun free motion quilting it in a variegated blue. For some added fun, the moon, and the footprints, are all quilted with Glow in the Dark thread. I am really pleased at how well it glows. Not quite bright enough to catch with my camera, but you can definitely see it when the lights go out.   ( I had tried it out on another project and it worked like a dream.)And with a trip of the iron, the ink disappeared like MAGIC!!!! It erased better with the iron than it did on paper! (Just check your iron after, it will leave a bit of a residue)

But wait, we have a set of mysterious footprints and no one to catch the crook.

All safe now, Nancy is on the job. She always gets her man (or woman, depending on the mystery.)  With a little Pellon, she was stuck on the case!

And there you have it, a new wall hanging for my daughter, who now has been bit by the Nancy Drew bug!

So, everyone loves a great mystery giveaway, well why not both.  I am giving away a set of these fabulous erasable pens and a mysterious gift.  It will be a surprise.  Most everyone loves surprises!!

Just leave Mystery! somewhere in your comment and you are in the giveaway. Followers get an extra entry.
If you are a no reply blogger, I will draw another name!!!!
Plus, I am also having another giveaway of a Rolie Polie of Ladybug Garden that the Fat Quarter Shop generously sponsored for my one year blog anniversary.

Both giveaways end on Sunday, March 17th, at midnight!!

Don't forget to stop by the other blogs and check out there Mystery Filled Projects!!
