My Dresden Challenge Entry ~ Shattered

Months back, I heard of a Dresden Challenge that was being held by the Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild.  The Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild is celebrating Darlene Zimmerman’s 20th Anniversary for her EZ Dresden ruler.  I am really new to quilting and I purchased the Dresden ruler even before I really started quilting.   I love Dresdens, they have such a classic feel to them, and I just can't seem to resist.  So, I figure why not enter one of my little Dresden creations.  And here is what I came up with.....

It is a traditional Dresden with a bit of Scrappyness. (Which I Love Scrappy)   I am calling it Shattered!   I used several prints of the Aviary line with just a touch of pink.  Which, I think sets the whole Dresden off.  It is 18" square and
I decided it would make a great throw pillow.

I machine quilted  1/4" around the Dresden.

Go and check out (Or maybe enter your own) the rest of the entries at the Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild.  There are some beauties on the competition.
