Eerie Night Hop - My Day and a Giveaway

Today is the final
day of the

Hop!
Thank you to all of you that have stopped
in and visited everyone's blog.
A big thanks to Marian for entrusting me
with hosting this hop while she
in one her way back to the states.

I figured since I was hosting the hop,
I need to join in the fun.

No quilting for this project,
I had to create a Mad Hatter costume for my daughter.
She doesn't like to match anyone
else, so a handmade jacket
was just the ticket.

This is what I came up with for her..

Using Simplicity pattern #8020, fabric, interfacing,
some of my favorite threads,
and a few hours.
I made her this....

As you can see the Mad Hatter,
(well the newer version)
had spools of thread for a sash.
I threaded them
all using DMC embroidery floss
(Love that stuff)

My favorite are the variegated
spools.
They are so fun.

I might have to put them all in
a jar after Halloween is
over.
If I can get them back from
my daughter.

For my Halloween projects of past,
in my home
I don't decorate a lot,
but here are a couple of my favorite
decorations.
My one and only Halloween quilt,
which you can see here in more detail.

I also just finished a tutorial
over at Thermoweb
for these little pumpkins.

They are going to
work their way right into
my Thanksgiving décor.

Now how about a giveaway...
A beautiful thread set from
Aurifil.

I hope you enjoyed your stop here
and please stop by the rest of the
hoppers for today.

  1. The Mad Hatter jacket is amazing! (My 16-year-old will be the Mad Hatter in his high school's musical performance of Wonderland High in a few weeks, so your Mad Hatter costume made me grin.) I love your Halloween quilt and the little pumpkins are darling. Thank you SO much for hosting the blog hop for us!
