Seeing Double

No, you are not seeing double!  I took the plunge and paper pieced for the first time.  A bit scary and intimidating, but I finished 2 out of 12 of the block needed to do the quilt I am working on.  I really love how they turned out, but they are way more time consuming than I thought.  Maybe, now I know a little more of what I am doing, the next 10 will go a little easier.

I have to admit I goofed and have four of the same paper pieced blocks.  (I wished I had read the directions better!)  Oh well, the 2 extra blocks will make great pillows.  Don't you love the pink polka dots?  It is my favorite fabric.

I also finished sewing the outside quilt blocks this weekend.  I had a  great sewing day!  Oh, off to work on 10 more blocks! (I am having a fabric giveaway, if you are interested.  It closes Sept 3.)

  3. I love it and the polka dot is great fabric. I do a ton a paper piecing and it gets faster as you learn. I put my extra blocks in a box and when I collect enough of these orphans I make a sample quilt.

  14. Sorry to hear about you Blog posting and photos being Hijacked, after all that work. Thank you for taking the time to re-post the Blog and photos. I love the Pink Poka Dot. I have only paper pieced once but think I will try it again. Thanks for the encouragement.

    1. I wasn't that happy with the hijacking, either. It was a lot of work getting her to remove it. As for Paper piecing, it was a lot of fun and work all rolled into one. I love the results though, so I will be doing it again. You should definitely give it another try!
