Hugs and Kisses XOXOXOXO Hop

I can honestly say I love holidays.  It is such a great pleasure to be able to spend time with the ones that you love and shower them with hugs, kisses, and of course love.  So, when the Hugs and Kisses Blog Hop was available, I hopped on over and signed up for it.

I have a confession before I show off my creation.  I was a bad girl  and a very special couple didn't get a Christmas present from us this last year.  I gave them an IOU of sorts.  (Yes, I know I am terrible, but you know the old saying better late than never. Right?)  I just wasn't quite sure what to give them.  Then an idea struck me, what do people who are grandparents love more than anything.  Any guesses? ....................

Grandchildren of course!!!

I got their grand children's hand prints and signatures (All on the sly, yes a bit sneaky I am) and added them to the bottom.  Dangling by a string on the arrow.  After I took the picture, I transferred all of their signatures onto each hand and then traced them with a marker and heat set each signature.

I loved the arrow and heart off of the blog hop sign, so I interpreted it into my wall hanging. The arrow was my very own first paper piecing pattern. (A little off, but then I am a bit wonky)  I love to be challenged to try something a different even if it doesn't end up exactly how you hopped.   I am still stuck on putting words on my projects also.  Strange how one hop (In Your Words) can change your ideas on other projects.

I love to look at the back of quilts.  It adds a whole new dimensions to the project.  I added hearts in there too.   Their hand prints have nice little pointing fingers.  I can't wait to give that special couple their belated present.  Hope they don't mind that it is just a bit late.

So at the last minute, (like today sometime) I decided why should we just make red and pink Valentines?  What about our poor fellas? (Yes, most of them have it pretty good)  But they need Valentine's too.  Most men don't care for the color pink, and my hubby's favorite color is one of them.  Although, one year I convinced him to wear a pink shirt for Easter.  (the only time, talk about a waste)  I decided that my fella needed something this year.  Here it is the Manly Valentine pillow or the I Love You, Man pillow.

I am sure he will be happy that there is no pink for him to rest his head on.

Well, now that my time is up, go and show the rest of today's hoppers some

LOVE.....

  76. I have a brother that is 64 years old and has always been willing to wear to pink, lavender, any pastel shirt. My husband(s) would not wear a pink shirt for anything. So, I understand. I know your husband loves his pillow. Being a grandmother, the grandparents are not upset about the wallhanging being a belated present. They certainly understand and they are elated. I'm sure they love handmade gifts and especially one with grandchildren's handprints and signatures. You did a great job, again!
