Jared's Star

This beauty had a mission.
Well, maybe more like I had a mission.
A young man, a family friend's grandson,
had his lung cancer come back from remission and
the outlook has been very grim.
I knew that I had to do something,
and so I made this shooting star, just for him.

Each piece was sewn with a prayer for Jared.
I knew that I had to complete it soon, so that
he would be wrapped in comfort.

I finished it in just a couple of days.
I was a driven woman.
I took it out in the bitter cold to get a couple of picture.
The snow made for such a beautiful backdrop.

I added a very important addition
to my creation - a label, which I often do not do.
It was super easy  and I know that I will be using that method again.
You can find the tutorial on
Therm-O-Web's blog today.

Enjoy every moment for we do not know when will be our last.

  5. Your quilt is not only beautiful to look at, but the sentiment and love that went into it is even more beautiful. I also make what I call comfort quilts for friends and family who are going through a difficult time. As I'm making it, I pray and think of them and they know every time they use of see the quilt, that I'm with them.
Jared will know that you are with him! My prayers will also go with him.
