Stitches of Summer

It has been a busy couple weeks
and still my poor sewing machine
is feeling neglected.
But, I have this
beautiful stack of fabric
just waiting to be sliced into pieces
and sewn back together.

You could call it therapy.
(And right now I need a little)
The colors just make me happy.
I am so looking forward to working
 with these little beauties.

So what exactly have I been doing this
summer?
In the few moments,
that I am not painting the house,
and all the other home improvement
projects that require nice weather
or regular household chores,
I have been working on a little
stitching

I think I will be saving this
for the
I am very close to having the
embroidery all done.

Our garden is in full bloom and I
LOVE it.
We had a lot of rain today
and it just keeps coming.
While there was a small
break in the clouds, I
snapped a shot of one of my favorite
day lilies.

And my dear sweet quilting friend,
worked up my pattern

I am in love with her color choices.
It just screams
SUMMER
She has a second in the works,
that is a totally different theme.
Go and check out the teaser photo.

Hope you all are
 enjoying your week!

Sights of Summer

I can't show you any
sewing projects because
well, there isn't much to
show off.
But, I do have some beautiful blooms
from my garden to
show you all.

Coneflowers (Echinacea)
are one of my all-time
favorite flowers.
This is a new one I picked up last year.
It starts like this and
then...

it looks like a completely different
flower.

I started with one lone plant
and ended up with

my front flower bed consumed with beautiful
pink blooms
and many Happy Bees.

And for a little
annual flower love,
Zinnias.

Hope you all are having a great week
And enjoyed the flowers I picked just for
YOU!!

A cup of joe, or two, or three...........

I had a request for a pin cushion
about two week back
well, after making one,
they sort of snowballed into making
NINE!
Sew, I just had to show the cuties off

They all have plans
of being Christmas Presents.

Each has it's own little
personality for
it's intended recipient.

Two of the little guys already
headed to their destination,
and didn't get their
photo taken.
It is my little
rainbow of color.

Aren't they fun?

I also finished Block 12 of the
LMS Quilty Stitches.
I already picked out a fun frame for
it.

I can't wait to see it hanging in
my sewing room.
