I am always excited to take on a
new challenge and I am so glad that you are
here to join me.
Thanks to
Thearica and Madame Samm
for cheering us all along.
I had absolutely every intention
to make something super
funny, since it is
April Fool's Day.
(So, if you have a trickster in your
life, I gave you fair warning)
I started working on it, but
I just couldn't pull it off.
My heart wasn't in it, so
plans completely changed.
I had a bit of the pretty little stack of
Kona left from
the hop in January,
and you can't waste
beautiful fabric. Right?
After I chose what I was doing (for the second time),
I added a bit of
hand embroidery.
There is someone very special
in my life that I call
SUNSHINE.
And they are just
that
so,
Here it is
just for my sunshine
I used 12 wt. Aurifil in my machine again.
I just love how it stands out.
I was super fortunate and
received a beautiful flagpole.
An adorable little song bird,
I absolutely love it!!
It is a lot sturdier than
the other flag poles that I own.
all the neighbors are now jealous!
Check out the other flags
whipping in the wind....
April 1st

ReplyDeleteFANtastic flag Amy!
ReplyDeleteGreat flag and a lucky "sunshine" to have you make this for them. I had a co-worker call me little miss sunshine quite often. She wasn't a morning person and I am so I was always happy and chipper in the morning. I think it drove her crazy! lol
ReplyDeleteWonderful flag!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, and cheerful flag. You did a lot of work on it and did a beautiful job. I love it!
ReplyDeleteAm glad you changed your mind. This flag is delightful. That song is very special to me, also, because of the relationship I had with a little boy I took care of for almost 14 years. We had regular duets, with sound effects and interjections thrown in. Thanks for the memory and I hope you and your sunshine enjoy the flag.
ReplyDeleteSunshine, you have some :) Fantastic rays on your flag!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! My husband sang that song over and over to each of our boys when they were babies and he walked them to sleep.

ReplyDeleteSorry, I've been trying to post from my laptop, and it just wouldn't let me. Glad I have one computer that works right.
The neighbors certainly have more to be jealous about than the flag pole. The flag pole is wonderful and so is your flag. The quilting highlights the sun so well. I know we are all ready to have some nice days after the winter we have endured. The flag is certainly a welcome sight. Thanks for participating and sharing the wonderful creation.
ReplyDeleteI love your flag! The quilting, the colors, everything looks great!
ReplyDeleteLots of sunshine is great and so is your flag. BTW Sunshine is my daughter's nickname too.
