Hello and welcome to my blog.
If you are a regular, you get the joy (haha) at looking at this quilt a second time. :)
I have been quilting for just over a year and I absolutely love it.
Since, I began quilting I just adored the hand-appliqued and quilted beauties that I spied around.
I dreamed of making my own.
This summer, I spent it working on this.

I finished up this quilt in about 8 weeks.
The hexagons are all hand-pieced together and then
hand appliqued onto the backing.
I wanted a modern approach to a traditional design.
I decided to then hand quilt it together with the same echoing
hexagons throughout the quilt.
I used Aurifil 12 wt. thread throughout.
It was quilted with 5 different colors.

ReplyDeleteLove how you did the corners - never seen anything like that before!
ReplyDeleteAmy, I am thinking you need to write a pattern for this quilt. The more I look at it the more I (and I bet others) would like to make it. The idea is too cool, the corners unique and I just plain like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteOh what nice bright colors in your hexie!
