I came across The Sharp Crochet Hook a few months ago and thought, WOW, that would be super handy. I wonder if it really works. Yes, I am a bit of a skeptic. Jessica at the Sharp Crochet Hook had some gorgeous projects that she had finished using this little hook. These are just a couple of the cute projects she had .......
I had yet to try to crochet through any type of fabric before. So, might as well give it a shot, right? I received the hook and a handy little idea book.
After, checking out Jessica's website and the idea book. I gathered my supplies
and took to crocheting. I like to mix and match my crafts. Crochet, quilting, and sewing so I loved trying something new.
The flower is crocheted into the fabric. The hook did what it said it would. It glided through the fabric with ease. Well, I could just stop at accessorizing a pillow. A little added bling to a kitchen towel was next.
The material for the kitchen towel was thicker, but it still went into it with no problems.
Another project I have always wanted to try, but thought it was way more difficult. Next, off to some plain old blue napkins that might need a little crochet bling.
So, I bet you would love to get your hands on one of those little hook right. Well, it just so happens that Jessica at the Sharp Crochet Hook was generous enough to give one of my readers a hook of their very one.
And she will ship it INTERNATIONALLY!

ReplyDeleteI think I would take either a charm pack or a layer cake and crochet them together for a granny crochet style blanket or maybe stick to one of the projects in the book.

ReplyDeleteI love to crochet onto baby blankets, this would be AWESOME!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many ideas! But I think my first project would be some pretty pillow shams/cases!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I've always wanted to crochet an edging on a flannel baby blanket... Winning this might be just the motivation to finally try it! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI think I might try a granny squares blanket where I alternate a granny square and a charm square. That might look really cool! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those "why didn't I think of it" gadgets! I've used a regular needle to puncture a few holes in the fabric, then followed it with my crochet hook. Spectacular giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would use this to make cute edging on little girl socks (I would do it to my son's socks if he would let me lol). There are a million ideas I have for this tool!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to crochet on towels to hang. Also on flannel blankets. Thanks for having this give away!
ReplyDeleteI think I would try to trim the open end of a pillow case :)

ReplyDeleteI am a new follower of Jessica.
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today through Sharp Crochet's facebook page. I'm really enjoying looking around, you're doing a great job! I absolutely love that tablerunner. If I won the sharp crochet hook I would make that first, then a cute edging on a fleece blanket, and then I would do an edging on the hem of some of my daughter's dresses. I would love to win!!!! Thanks for the giveaway.
I would edge napkins :)
ReplyDeleteMy volunteer group does service project quilts. One of the ladies like to crochet an edging onto them. I never knew how she could do them - but turns out she has a sharp hook! How I would love to try this for those dainty girly type service project quilts. !!
ReplyDeleteI have crocheted towel toppers before. This hook would make it easier, but what I really want to try is crocheting an edging around fabric to make a baby blanket, and a table runner and edging on the bottom of hanging towels in the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, I have never tried this kind of crocheting before. Whatever I try first, it will be super simple. By the way, I like the red color that you used. My favorite.
ReplyDeleteGoing to hop over to Jessica's blog and follow her.
ReplyDeleteThese remind me of my grandmother.. she's been on my mind alot today! Thanks for triggering some fond memories!
ReplyDeleteWhat a genius invention. I would love to have one for tea towels, pillow cases and more!
ReplyDeleteI have so many towels and sewing projects that would look fabulous with a little crochet edging. I would love to try it on the hem of a dress for my granddaughter. Maybe even the sleeves and neckline, too! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen towels need those loops that prevent them from falling on the floor. They fall all the time and it drives me nuts. If i win they are getting an upgrade right away!
ReplyDeleteI would love to dress up some kitchen linens. Maybe a skirt for my daughter too.
ReplyDeleteOhh! Table Runners and Coasters and towels.........etc...etc... I love to crochet! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteNow I follow =o).I want this hook for ages, perfect for blankets,my daughters towels and skirts,oh the possibilities.Thank you for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought of this in years! In middle school we used to create trim for our denim shirts and on receiving blankets. I would like to try this again, I think it would be fun to embellish mug rugs and other quilty projects. I happily follow your blog! :)

I would love to try crochet edging... I love that look! Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea - saw a blanket that used scrap fabric and crocheted them together after stitching a blanket stitch around each square. This will eliminate one step! Might finish then!!!LOL. My grandmothers did edging on all sorts of household items. I follow via email.
ReplyDeleteI love to try it. I love to crochet!
ReplyDeleteI follow Jessica now
ReplyDeleteOh Amy I would use it on pillowcases! Baby blankets would look lovely! I want one! I hope I win! Yes I do!
ReplyDeleteI am a follow of Jessica too!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'd like to try it on denim. I love the look of crochet lace on denim! I'm off to check out Jessica's blog now.

Wow! I would use it to crochet around fleece for Project Linus. Right now I use that skip stitch balde to cut all teh slits before I start crocheting but this looks a lot better!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win one:)
I am an email follower at louster388@......
I'm already a follower and I would use the hook to crochet pillow case edgings after I make and embroider on them like vintage pillow cases. I like to give pillowcases as gifts.
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to use it with my crazy quilting projects and on grandkid's clothes.
I see the single crochet hook at Jessica's website is out of stock or I would go order one. I don't need any pattern books on edgings since I have a vintage collection of edging patterns or I'd order hook+pattern combo.
Or maybe I'll win one!!!
I'm convinced - I need one of these hooks! Thanks so much for linking up on Hookin On Hump Day!
ReplyDeleteI would like to crochet trims on my granddaughter's clothes and my own fairy shirts!
ReplyDeleteHi, Amy, thanks for the chance to get my fingers wrapped around one of these nifty sharp crochet hooks. I can think of a few projects that I would like to try with these. I have always liked crochet edgings on pillowcases. In the past I have used a large needle to sew the yarn through the fabric but it is slow going and hard on the hands. A sharp crochet hook would be so much better. I also think I would like to make a baby quilt combining fabric and crochet with a ruffled crochet edging. Matching curtains. Pillow edgings. Crochet flowers on a bag. Sew many possibilities .... :-) Pat
ReplyDeleteI am following Jessica now, too ... thanks, again ... :-) Pat

ReplyDeleteI would love to have a Sharp Hook. I just found out that I will be a very proud great grandmother and have purchased a length of fleece and will be crocheting a pretty edging on it. This would make the project go so much faster. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
