What's Been Happening at the Hive...

With the big spring snowfall we received this weekend, I was busy as a bee.    Old Man Winter forgot to check his e-mails that said "It's Spring," or he wanted me to catch-up on some sewing projects.  I finished Part 4 of Bea at Beaquilters quilt-a-long.  They are cute little 4.5" blocks.  I have not made any that small before.

Mark them off as a first.  Then, after finishing them all up, I decided that I was really loving Jenelle's Honeycomb Stitch-A-Long.  I just figured that there was no way that I would be able to finish with her schedule.  I printed off the pattern and went to work on Saturday and.....

Stitch Me Up - The Ooh La La Edition

My daughter once again was a huge influence on what exactly I should do for this hop.  Most of the things I make (of course) first go to my kids or family.  I thought that I would show you a before picture of a huge 25" square bed pillow that my daughter loves to set on her bed to dress it up.  Well, it was pretty dull, store bought pillow that has seen better days.

Nancy Drew Blog Hop and Giveaway!

I can remember as a pre-teen going to the local book store and sitting on the floor.  Looking through all the great mysteries by Carolyn Keene.  Hoping by chance that I would get to pick out and take home one of those great stories.  What great adventures they held!!  Yes, I have a soft spot for Nancy Drew.  They were filled with mystery, a great heroine, and they began my love of reading!

Well, when they announced the hop, I was disappointed because it was right after the holidays and I knew that there was no way that I would be able to join.  Well, thanks to a small fabric delay, it worked in my favor.  I was glad to join in have and fun with an ionic figure from my childhood and one of current favorite things (Ohhhhhh, Moda Fabric!!!)

But before we get to my finished project, I had to show you a great sleuth mystery quilting tool.
I had seen that there were these erasable gel pens that with a short trip with an iron would disappear like magic.  Like a secret decoder pencil, I was skeptical that anything could work that well.  I had to try it out on this project.  And.....

My First Bea Blocks

We had snow yesterday, but today it was bright and shining.  I found this little glimpse of spring. Oh, I can't wait for all my other bulbs to be blooming.
Now on to a bit of Spring block sewing.....
