Lemon Sugar Scrub, a Pouf and a Bunny

I needed the perfect gift for one of the munchkin's teachers.  I came across her gift idea a couple day ago on Pinterest and decided to give it a whirl.   Their teacher enjoys running a marathon or two.  And what do you usually have after running long distance?  Tired Feet.  This looked like the solution:  Lemon Sugar Scrub from The Idea Room.

The ingredients were simple, so I insisted on the help of the smallest of my munchkins.  It is always nice to have a little help.  It had three ingredients and while mixing it all together the lemon aroma was intoxicating.

I also crocheted her one of those Peony Poufs out of Lily Scrubby thread. The pattern came from the Lily Garden Grows booklet.  They have 20 projects in there and I can't wait to test out a few more.   I hope that the munchkin's teacher enjoys the indulgence.  Total cost for the gift was about $4.00 and some of your time.

I also thought that I would leave you with some pictures of my yard.

I just love the pinks in the Spring.

And our little furry friend that narrowly escaped a rotor-tiller incident this weekend.  Isn't he or she so cute?  Have a great weekend!!!!

  1. I love your crocheted body pouf scrubbers! This little peony one is so cute. And how awesome is this little gift comb you put together!?! It really is the perfect gift for your little munchkin's teacher and the fact that it is hand made makes it all the more personal. I'd love a link to the recipe for the lemon sugar scrub. I'll bet it smells amazing.

Here's a question for you: do your fingers get raw when you're using the scrubby crochet thread?

Anyway, congratulations on a really thoughtful and fun finish! Thank you for linking up!

    P.S. Your flowers are gorgeous!

    1. Elizabeth,
If you click on the link above " The Idea Room", it takes you directly to the scrub recipe. The Scrubby yarn is a bit like a rough washcloth cut into strips. It isn't that rough on your hands, but a little more difficult to find the loops. Thanks for the link party again this month, hoping to win this one! Stop by anytime!

    2. Oops, I missed the link. Thanks! Clicking over now.

I don't crochet (I didn't inherit the gene), but I'm hoping I can talk my mom into making a few scrubbies for me for gifts. Again, this is a really thoughtful gift. Thanks for sharing a great idea.

And crossing my fingers for you ;).

  4. Did you know you can use salt for scrub mixes too? I keep it in the bathroom for my feet and use some after gardening to get my fingers to look normal again! I love the peony pouf! It's adorable--and even cuter because I can't make it for myself. Perfect little gift!

    1. This is my first scrub. I unfortunately have yet to try any myself. Which do you prefer the sugar or the salt? Thanks for stopping by!

  6. This is fantastic, especially the scrubbie! I have never heard of this thread/yarn before, and a Google search didn't turn anything up, either. Where did you get yours?

    1. Christa,
I bought the yarn at Michael's a couple weeks ago. It is now on clearance at the store I purchased it at. I hope you have luck and find some! Amy
