Getting Closer To Catching Up....

I am getting closer to
catching up with
Brooke Nolan Advent Animals.
These cross-stitch patterns
are free of charge.

I love the sweet Sophie squirrel
and her antlers just make
me laugh.

Or maybe share a spot of tea with
Little Miss Hattie.
She is really
close to being all finished
up, so I thought she
needed to be shown off.

Brooke has released 13 of the 25
little minis.
I am going to work on number 7,
Miss Sheila the Sheep.
I think she will be donning
a crochet hook instead of knitting.

Ohhh, but I guess you will
have to wait and see.

I love to play with solid colors and this block
was inspired by my garden.

The second was a whole lot of
spinning.

I kept singing
"You spin me right round baby,
right round", so it earned the
name Turntable.

I am totally going to make one or more
of these.

You can go Here and look at the entries.
and vote daily for your favorites.

The contest will run through April 19th.
This year all entries must be designed with
 AccuQuilt shapes and as always
must be an original design.

Tree Bird Hop

Hello all and welcome to my
stop on the Tree Bird Hop!!

I was really unsure on just
what to create with the cute
little birdie fabric.

And then I had a bit of inspiration.
I decided to go BIG!!
Like the biggest quilt that I have
EVER made.

It is not yet quilted but,
I am all done piecing it.

It is around 100" x 110"
with over 1000 pieces and
42 blocks.
The bird fabric is from
Elizabeth's Studios  and it is just beautiful.
I used a variety of blue tones
of Kona and AMB Clothwork Solids and
I pieced it with my favorite thread, Aurifil.

I do believe that I will
have to hand quilt it
because of the size.

Go and check out the
other great hoppers
today!!

Friday, March 20

P.S. Stay tuned for a HUGE giveaway that
will be coming very soon.

My Lacy Pillow and My New Cricut

So what do you do when
you can't sleep at night?
Well, some people might drink some
warm milk.
Not me, I go ahead and get up
and quilt.
That was me last night.
I whipped up this beauty in
just a couple of hours.

Believe it or not is an applique.

Like a pretty fabric doily.

Simple and elegant

So, how did I do it?
I played with my new Cricut Explore machine.
It cuts FABRIC!!!
I have all these little
fabric ideas dancing through my
head.

I had a old machine that I have
used years for paper,
but I really couldn't resist this.

It did a pretty good job
on the two little doilies that
I placed on the corner.
I know that there is no
way that I could have cut that with
scissors.
OHHHHHH, the possibilities.

So, have any of you tried this machine?
Do you have any questions on how it works?

I can't wait to play with it some more.
